Went to Wumpskate last night, and it was awesome. Tons of people there in pirate costumes. I made a half-hearted stab at a costume for myself. It mainly consisted of my peasant shirt and a bandanna to tie over my hair. I brought my eyepatch along but only wore it for the first five or ten minutes or so. I didn't think it would be wise to try rollerblading with it on :)

Did lots of rollerblading, ate some tacos, chatted very briefly with a couple people, saw industrialbchic, did more rollerblading, and finally did about ten minutes of backwards skating towards the end.

I seemed to be going a bit faster and having a bit easier time of it than usual, but i'm not sure if that's because i'm in somewhat better practice, or because i just got brand new and slightly larger wheels. Oh, and i managed to wrap enough twine around and through the hole from the missing bolt to make my rollerblades stable, yay!

It turns out that there was a writer/photographer from LA Weekly there, and they've got an article up already and a set of pictures. There's a pretty good one of industrialbchic, but i only show up in the background of one the shots, looking kind of dorky (my usual role in wumpskate pictures =P)
