7 ports ought to be enough for anybody
I'm now using every single USB port on my computer. Seven seemed like an absurdly large number when i first got it =P

(Interestingly, when i plugged in the last thing all of the sudden my entire computer froze and started making a beeeeeeep noise. But hard-booting it seems to have fixed that.)

For my next trick perhaps i ought to try finishing the internet. I hear the last boss is hard.

You know, I was wondering what you could possibly be using seven ports for... and then I started counting the devices I have laying around, which I simply don't have plugged in.

Counting only my own devices, not my partner's:
4 external hard drives
2 card readers
1 combo card reader / hard drive
4 cameras
2 USB-charged phones (personal + work)
1 USB-charged Bluetooth headset
1 "fridge"
1 printer
1 scanner
some Trackpoint keyboards

I'm pretty sure I don't own a computer with 7 USB ports, though, and I don't think I've ever used all 6 on my main server at the same time either.

Let's see, the stuff i've got plugged in currently is:
1 USB to mini-USB cable (which i use for connecting to my mp3 players)
1 external disk drive,
1 external flash drive,
1 wireless keyboard doo-dad,
1 wireless mouse doo-dad (i used to have a single doo-dad that connected both, but the mouse that went with the set broke =P)
1 webcam,
and 1 port which i use for thumb drives.

And wait, what, "fridge"? :)
