Everyone is doing it =)

Apparently I'm not very Spiritual In fact i'm so unspiritual that they apparently didn't even have words to describe it =)

You scored 21, on a scale of 0 to 100. Here's how to interpret your score:

25 - 29 Hardcore Skeptic -- but interested or you wouldn't be here!
30 - 39 Spiritual Dabbler -- Open to spiritual matters but far from impressed
40 - 49 Active Spiritual Seeker -- Spiritual but turned off by organized religion
50 - 59 Spiritual Straddler -- One foot in traditional religion, one foot in free-form spirituality
60 - 69 Old-fashioned Seeker -- Happy with my religion but searching for the right expression of it
70 - 79 Questioning Believer -- You have doubts about the particulars but not the Big Stuff
80 - 89 Confident Believer -- You have little doubt you’ve found the right path
90 - 100 Candidate for Clergy

I don't think this test is very accurate however, because there was a very western-civ monotheistic bias to the test, which i admit that i'm not very. I'm also not sure that my spirituality could be very easily described in terms of truth or untruth.

There's also another test that tries to match you up with a Religion

I know i've taken one like this before, although i'm not sure if it was actually the same one or not.

I got 33 spiritual dabbler and I think it's a horribly inaccurate test. Most of the options were poor. I couldn't put my beliefs and just had to try to find the closest thing. And it seems to equate spirituality with religion, which I think is a mistake. And yeah, way too much monotheistic Western religion. As if angels and demons were the true guide to spirituality.

I think you're equating religion with monotheistic Western religion ;)

The problem is not necessarily that they're relating spirituality to religion, but that they're too limited in their definition of religion. Zen-buddhism is definatly very spiritual but fairly unorganized, and something that does not equate well with what they listed. (I'm afraid i don't know enough about it to know what it equates well with, but that sure ain't it =)

What is the real definition of religion? (And i do mean _real_, not necessarily what's listed in the dictionary)

My first order estimate would be a spirituality that is shared by more than one person.

Actually I equate religion with some form of formalized theism. I do not consider Zen a religion, I consider it a philosophy.

I do not consider all theism to be religion, so that I have a nice word to sum up what I dislike without having to blast the good bits.
