I'm going to Bar Sin tonight, and i may have jury duty on monday, but.... tomorrow night is Steampunk night at Malediction!!! No fair!!!

~*~ Sunday, June 17th

This Sunday the MALEDICTION SOCIETY celebrates its "TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY"!!! To make the evening extra special, we're throwing a "STEAMPUNK BALL" and all society members are encouraged to dress to the nines in that industrial victorian aesthetic. Even better, goggles will get you FIVE DOLLAR ENTRY up till Midnight!

To help us celebrate, we have a number of wonderful accompaniments for the evening:

THE CLOCKWORK DOLL performance may be expected at Midnight on the main floor, featuring the automaton ballet of NUI, the music of MOODORGAN, and a very s! pecial guest TOY MAKER! Out on the patio the NIGHT GALLERY presents stunning display of steampunk themed artwork, featuring CADE FALLS (Vacuform Sculpture), TIMOTHY WILLIAMS (Found Art), DANIEL LATINI (Steampunk Installation), CATALYST ECHO (Photography and Mixed Media), RIENA DE LUZ (Mixed Media), PSYCHO ABE (Malediction Photo Montage Projection), and throughout the venue, Gear Sculpture by JOE, PETER K., and MISS KITTY!!!

Lastly the patio will showcase the fine talents of THE MALEDICTION SOCIETY patrons themselves, featuring SOCKMONKE (Fire Breathing and Poi), PSYCHO ABE (Fire Breathing), JENNI TRIXTER (Fire Eating, Poi, and Pyro-Hullahoop), EDANYA (Hullahoop), OCHLOCRAT (Juggling), and PRESTON GELBERWOLF (IntruMental Bard). Additional acts are welcome, just ask Michael Wolf and be prepared to bring what you need!

That sounds pretty awesome. Pity nothing much like that happens around here. (AFAIK. There are some gothy clubs, but I've never heard of victorian/steampunk things... And the person we know who's most likely to know would probably have mentioned it.)

Well presuming that they've gone to the trouble to look for them. It's not like these things are usually widely advertised. Generally without doing lots of websearches the only way you hear about them is if you or a friend is already going to clubs.

Well, we have one local friend who does frequent goth-y clubs in particular, so there's a decent chance she'd hear of it. And she knows akiko's into victorian dress stuff, since she was with us at DragonCon. So you'll likely meet her this year, come to think of it.

Down here in LA unfortunately =/ (from your perspective anyways, pretty fortunately for me =)

3100 Wilshire Blvd to be specific in case you ever happen to be down in the area on a sunday. And here's their website if you're curious about the details.
