Hey Usqueba

Morna said you liked silly anime and she borrowed DragonHalf to show you. I'm curious what other anime you've seen, or rather, which other ones you haven't seen that Morna might want to borrow for you.

Tenchi Muyo, El Hazard, and Martian Sucessor Nadesico are all fairly silly and i have the complete series in each case.

Ranma 1/2 is of course very silly, but my ashke has my first season box set of that. Excel Saga is EXTREMELY silly, although i've only got the first three or four DVDs so far.

Have a few other complete series, however most of them aren't very consistently silly, Cowboy Bebop, Rayearth 1 & 2, Escaflowne, Serial Experiments Lain. Hmmm, i believe Maze is at least somewhat silly, but i haven't watched all of it. My ashke has my Slayers DVDs, but i heard you have those already.

I have a lot of other movies and series that i've only got the first couple disks of, i can try and give you a more complete list if you want.

one more addition to silly anime list =P
I have the complete seris of Fruits Basket, which tends to be more on the silly side but it does have a couple dramatic episoides.

And we like unsilly anime, too! I'm always open to suggestions!

What we watched (silly-wise) was Haunted Junction - very silly & highly enjoyable. We also watched an ep of Record of Lodoss War, Chronicles of the Heroic Night (we also have "First Season" Lodoss). I like Lodoss a lot.

(I'm doing this from memory):

We have Vampire Hunter D, all of Lain (I *LOVED* Lain), Ceres (pretty good), Rayearth, Irresponsible Captain Taylor (I didn't like this, Dieppe did), Slayers, some Ah My Goddess!, 3 seasons? of Robotech.

We're working on Ranma 1/2 (I think we're midway thru 3nd season) and we have 2 seasons of CardCaptor Sakura (the non-American version).

So let's see, it looks like the stuff i have that you don't (at least according to that list) is...

Escaflowne, Tenchi Muyo, El Hazard, Martian Successor Nadesico, Mini-Goddess (the very silly followup to Ah My Goddess, since i'm guessing you have the two OAV DVDs and maybe the movie) Cowboy Bebop, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Maze, Bubblegum Crisis, Excel Saga (got the first few disks, and at least so far it hasn't developed a really strong plot, just lots of sillyness) um, think that's all the big stuff. Also have an assortment of movies (including all the US release Miyazaki stuff) random short OAV series, and some partial series.

Out of those, the _silliest_ is definitely Excel Saga.

As for good, Escaflowne is very good, as is Martian Sucessor Nadesico. The first is "girl gets transported to magical world with airships and magic powered mecha." Heh, sounds a lot like Rayearth, but it's got a very different style :) Nadesico is is a spoof on the giant robot/whosie team (is senshi the term i'm looking for?) anime. They're flying around on a spaceship with mecha, and the crew spends most of their time watching "Gekigengar," a silly anime about a team of mecha pilots, and occasionaly trying to apply what they saw in the anime to actual combat :)

Eh, descriptions are getting to long, and you may very well know some of this anyways :) If you want a recap on anything else, let me know.

Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard are both very good for the first "season," but tend to get a little weird after that. Both are silly for large parts.

Cowboy Bebop is very good, and ranges from very silly to dark and moody.

Revolutionary Girl Utena is very good, and ranges from silly to insane to twisted.

Mini-Goddess is almost as silly as Excel Saga. Bubblegum Crisis is one of those clasic series everyone is supposed to see. It's reasonably good, but kind of short and disjointed.

If you really want, i can print out the spreadsheet i have of all my anime DVDs and give it to Morna.

I've heard you guys are going to be hanging out on sunday, so if you decide on anything you're interested in before then Morna can probably stop by after work or something and borrow it. Although are you guys coming over here or are they going over their? I've heard their DVD player is kinda busted =/
