Two or three months ago while listening to all my Final Fantasy CDs, i was thinking that there's a _serious_ lack of hard music on the arranged CDs. Grand Finale (FF6) has nothingl, Celtic Moon (FF4) was a little more upbeat, but nothing that i recall as being actually hard. Dear Friends (FF5) had some medium hard songs, but nothing like the aforementioned Battle with Gilgamesh (technically titled "Clash on the Big Bridge" or "Death Battle on the Big Bridge," depending on whose translation you look at =)
I was thinking at the time that it would be great if they would actually make an arranged CD of just the battle themes and other hard songs from all the FF games. Then i found out about The Black Mages, which turns out to be _almost_ exactly what i wanted. It's all battle music, so it misses out on a few songs that would have been worth of inclusion. It's also a rock album. That's not a bad thing, but it's not what i was thinking of in the first place. Black Mages is great, but i also wish they'd do an orchestrated version, not necessarily the same songs (except for Battle with Gilgamesh =) but the same theme.
Oh, and i've found another advantage of a 4-door car, i can roll down the back windows partway and get "fresh" air into the car without it blowing straight in my face. Sometimes having the front windows down is nice, but only if i tie my hair back, which isn't a good idea if i'm trying to let it dry out right after a shower.
