Must be my lucky day
GalCiv ate my soul once again. I started playing about six or seven, and didn't stop till 2:30 =P

Doin medium well this game. Started out in the second crapiest position as far as i can tell. The people who ended up becoming my allies started in the crapiest, a small group of four or five habitable stars in the upper left hand corner seperated from everyone else by a quarter of a map of empty galactic wasteland. I was on the end of a long strip of stars running from lower left to upper right, and only got five good stars myself =P

Despite that managed to survive fairly well by trading stuff back and forth between the different races. Of course now that it's getting towards the end i'm clashing with the big empire, who isn't quite kicking my ass yet, but has definitely started polishing thier boots in anticipation.

In any case there was a reocurrance of a bug i ran into earlier, where you click the "leave" button to end a diplomacy session, and instead it decides to leave the game. Both times it happened though it was late at night after several hours of playing and well time for me to quit, so i'm calling it a feature :)

Most of the drive home was uneventfull, however shortly after getting on the 10 i saw a cop in front of me, so i slowed down to about 70. Unfortunatly i hadn't noticed the signs they'd put for the construction that said the speed limit was 55 =P

So the cop pulled me over, and came up and said he pulled me over for speeding. I said i thought i'd only been going about 70, and he said it was about 76, and then mentioned the 55 signs =P He asked where i was coming from and i said work, he asked where, i said Tustin. He asked how much i'd had to drink, and i said nothing. Apparently he was hoping anyone on the road at 3 in the morning on a saturday was DWI or something i guess. He asked if i had a drivers license and i gave it to him, and he asked if the Fullerton address was correct, and i told him that i'd moved to Pomona. Then he asked me where my shoes were, and i showed him that my birkenstocks were down there *confused*

Then, without even asking to see my insurance information, he told me to be more carefull next time and left. I was very suprised, but certainly not at all unhappy :)

I really should be hungry now, but i'm not. I had a corn dog and a jalapeno cheese stick (except it wasn't, it was pepper jack) for lunch with Morna, and a large drink of diet A&W. And then i had a bag of Zours from the vending machine and some gum. And that was about 12 hours ago. My body is being weird.

Ok, time for some reading and some bed.

Driving barefoot is illegal in most states. No idea why, but it is.

And what's your obsession with driving 95, anyway?

Yeah, what she said. California is one of those states. Didn't I tell you that at some point?

I don't know about most states, but last time i took a drivers ed course i was told by the instructor that desite rumor to the contrary neither driving barefoot nor eating while driving is illegal in california. Searching the regulations on the California DMV site doesn't come up with anything either. Where exactly did you hear this from?

Driving barefoot definitely isn't illegal in california as far as i can tell from checking the regulations, and i've seen posts from people claiming that it isn't illegal anywhere in the US, it's all just an urban legend. Do you have any authoritative refferences that say otherwise?
