The evolution of British propaganda

Rereading the article about the "Keep calm and carry on" poster reminded me of another bit of more recent British propaganda.

Anyone who's been to the Science Fiction Museum in seattle has probably already seen it, but i expect most people have heard at least a little about how Britain has gotten really enthusiastic about surveillance in the past decade or two. Apparently they have a significant crime problem (or at least think they do, i don't know what the actual statistics are) and their ideal solution seems to be to put cameras everywhere.

I guess not everyone thinks this is a great idea though, because a couple years ago (damn, when did 2002 stop being a couple years ago?) the British government decided they needed to have an ad campaign to convince people that it was a good idea. That it's nice to have people watching you. All the time.
