More Presidential Debate stuff
Akiko linked a great article/commentar about the debate from Plastic. I will quote the wonderful (and in my opinion highly accurate) "transcription" below.
One of my favorite bits that it reminded me of was (and obviously paraphrasing a bit)
Kerry: "We need a president who knows how to pull our allies together. This president hasn't even held the statesmen-like summits that pull people together."
Bush: "Well Japan is going to have a summit. And there's going to be an Arab summit, Collin Powel helped with that one." (perhaps Collin Powel should be the president then?)
Kerry: "When we went in there were three countries: Great Britain, Australia and the United States. That's not a grand coalition. We can do better."
Bush: (with a stupid "ha, ha, i caught you" tone of voice) "Well, actually, he forgot Poland."
However even better was:
Kerry asks if Saddam is more important than bin Laden sicne we've got so many more troops in Iraq than Afghanistan.
The organizer guy (direct quote:) "What about Senator Kerry's point, the comparison he drew between the priorities of going after Osama bin Laden and going after Saddam Hussein?"
Bush (direct quote:) "Jim, we've got the capability of doing both.
...(about 15 seconds of rambling)...
Of course we're after Saddam Hussein -- I mean bin Laden."
But anyways, the "transcript" from Plastic:
( Collapse )
