Woohoo!!!! A court has finally gotten around to declaring that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional!!!!!

I can't imagine how this happened at the same time that Bush is doing his best to turn america in a police state, but rock on!

Of course who knows how long it will last once it gets appealed (this was the 9th US Court of Appeals in San Francisco apparently) but it's nice while it lasts :)

The 9th Circuit is one of the most liberal, if I remember correctly. (They're also fookin' HUGE).

Personally, I'm cracking up laughing. This is GREAT!

It didn't include "under God" until McCarthy, I don't think.

They mentioned in the article i think that Eisenhower got the "under god" pert added in 1954. When exactly did McCarthy go on his rampage?

Like I mentioned in my most recent post, most people I know are happy about this. Only one I've found is actually pissed off about it, and she's a pretty conservative Southern Baptist.

Too bad 99 out of 100 senators disagree with the rest of us then. (I wonder who the one was? Did they abstain? Or were they just not at the session yesterday?)

And one of the judges in the case has already put the ruling on hold until the rest of the appeals court can decide whether or not to hear it.

I think we both have a fairly insulated group of friends. The vast majority of the people out there are vehmently agaisnt this, there are more of them, and they're being louder too.

Ah well, let's enjoy it for as long as we can.
