Help with anime stuff?
Does anyone know of any good online sites for buying anime DVDs and/or game and anime CDs?

There are a few DVDs i can't find at local stores that i'd really like to get (Battle Angel in particular) I've also got a lot of old Square games that i need to catch up on the CDs for. Xenogears and Einhander in particular.

Of course if i start adding CDs onto all the anime i've been getting it's going to make it even more difficult to get around to getting through all the RPGs i need to play =P

www.rightstuf.com for anime is generally decent.

if you're looking for soundtracks, try www.gamemusic.com or www.cdjapan.co.jp

Yeah, i've looked at rightstuff a little, they look like they've got a pretty good selection. The other site i've been looking at mostly so far is AniemNation.com

The other sites look cool though! And j-pop too! *bounce!* Thank you! *hug*

(still like to hear any other sites anyone else knows of though, the more the merrier! =)

Animenation is reliable, but slightly slower than ketchup out of a brand-new bottle on a cold day.

Slow in shipping stuff out?

Oh, dear gods on Taniquetil, yes. Damn slow. Especially if the item is out of stock.

Re: Sites
Bootleg company, operates out of someplace that doesn't enforce copyright, sells $30 Japanese CDs for $12, often missing half the booklet info.

Re: Sites
I think more important than questions about quality or the booklets, you're paying _money_ to pirates!

Better to just grab the mp3s off the net if you're not going to be paying money to the copyright owners. Paying money to someone _other_ than the copyright owners, even if it's less than normal, is just _dumb_

I'm looking TokyoPop right now, which has SM/EverAnime type prices but apparently has licensing deals. Unfortuantly since they're not trying to produce an exact copy they feel free to meddle with the contents rather than just reproducing the original.

Re: Sites
I think more important than...

Well, yeah, I was thinking that was implicit in my first word, "bootleg", and I avoid them _mainly_ for that reason. But perhaps I could have been more clear. ^_-

And yeah, Tokyopop CDs are cheap because they're re-published as US CDs, not Japanese imports. Though they do seem to be trying to collaborate actively with some of the liscensees rather than just blithely making stuff up, so that's good. I might've considered their FF9 CD (tracks reportedly picked by Uematsu) if I hadn't already had the limited edition japanese original 4cd set... Well, 5, with the extra one. ^_^;
