Apparently i don't need to vote today. I've had elections kind of sneak up on me in the past before, but this one seemed to come out of nowhere. It turns out that's because i've seen absolutely no political commercials on TV as a forewarning. And that's because there is nothing for me to vote on. Okay, that's not entirely true. The website the county registrar directed me to says that there is a single school board issue i could vote on. However i frequently skip those anyways since i have no skin in the game and aren't very informed about the issues because of that.
But there's no gubernatorial election, no mayoral elections, no congressional elections at either the state or local level, and perhaps most surprisingly, no Propositions. I know that's a lot more likely on an odd year, but it still seems a little strange.
Normally i make sure to vote in everything, but i really don't see much point in going down to the polling place just so i can not vote on a single issue. Though if there's some reason why i should, or if anyone else from SoCal happens to know that smartvoter.org is lying to me, let me know.
