And it's not a friday without something involving "Call Me Maybe", right? This time it's a very well done Batman Dark Knight Rises parody,

Studio Ghibli is working on their next film, "From Up On Poppy Hill", and there's a trailer for it. It's going to be one of those realistic childhood drama things instead of some kind of fantasy or SF story, which may make some people sad. It's being directed by Hayao's son, Goro Miyazaki, which may also make some people sad given the reception his "Tales From Earthsea" got, but hopefully he's gotten better since then? (Edit: I use present tense because it's done in Japan but not here yet. It's kind of like viewing distant stars, we're still waiting for the light to catch up to us over here in the US =)
Finally, yesterday NASA was testing their "Morpheus" lander and it blew up on the pad. Well, technically it lifted off, kinda listed drunkenly off to port, smashed back into the pad, caught on fire, and _then_ blew up. More importantly though, there's a pretty impressive video of it. Since this was a test flight falling over, catching on fire and exploding is "data" not "failure", right? So i believe we're allowed to enjoy it.
