I'd been vaguely thinking about going out for a walk, but when i woke up around 6:30 it was rather late. However i checked the sunset time and found that it wasn't till 7:30 or so, and then i had the brilliant idea that instead of just walking down Beach randomly i should go north, because then at the end of the trip i'd be at the mall! Which would provide some incentive for making the trip.
So i headed up north and found that it took me about 40 minutes to travel the 1.7 miles. However since that was a little less than i'd really wanted to walk i walked around the block the mall is in, which added about another mile.
Doing so gave me a chance to look at the new construction, and it looks like the Costco is ready to go, in fact the gas station part is already open. I should compare those prices to what i'm paying at the Arco near work. I am a little surprised by how close the apartments are to the Costco (at least they sure look like apartments.) I was already thinking the parking would be a nightmare, but now it looks like they'll have a significant problem with noise pollution as well.
So i wandered through the mall a bit and got a Pinkberry while i was there. There current set of flavors is Original, Chocolate, Peach, Mango, Pomegranate and Lychee, so aside from the chocolate (which i've admittedly never tried) they've got all good flavors right now.
I took the direct route back home, but stopped at Chipotle for dinner. I got home around 9:15, so aside from Chipotle i spent about two hours and forty five minutes on my feet. According to the Cardio Trainer tracking i went 4.69 miles in 1:42:25 (i paused the app both while at the mall and while in Chipotle) for an average speed of 2.7 mph, and burned 466 calories. After that i did more poking at the internet and reading before crashing around 2 am.
So I got up around 11 this morning, gave my parents a call, and am trying to figure out what to do with the rest of the day. I could try to do some more Mass Effect. I could walk to the mall again. I might even be able to convince myself to go see a movie, i'm not sure. Somehow walking to the mall feels substantially different from driving to the mall, possibly different enough that walking to see a movie by myself wouldn't seem incredibly weird, but i'm not sure. Or i could stay at home and try to catch up on DVRed TV. I could even try to start watching season 2 of Game of Thrones.
Or i could just poke around on the internet, read a little and fall asleep on the couch a lot, just like yesterday =P
