Amazon game day deals
Another set of game deals from Amazon, possibly some good ones this time? The deal of the day is Assassin's Creed Revelations. The lightning deals are:

6:00 - "This is a Nintendo DS game that simulates life, or at least it would if your life was about being trapped on a sinking ship and forced to complete a series of incomprehensible puzzles before your practically inevitable doom." (Oh, i think i know this one but i'm forgetting the name. Pretty obvious if i remember correctly though. Seven Doors Seven Something Seven Something?)
7:00 - "Bigger, funnier, and more tactical than ever before, the grandfather of the strategy RPG genre returns with its best HD entry yet!" (a "funnier and more tactical" "strategy RPG" makes me think Disgaea 4, but Disgaea isn't actually the grandfather of the strategy RPG genre by a long shot.)
8:00 - "Step onto the pitch with your favorite soccer players!"
10:00 - "This headset is the ultimate "secret weapon" for serious gamers seeking unmatched audio quality and immersion, sonic control and a competitive advantage."
12:00 - "This Nintendo DS game is the next evolution of virtual pets!" (Does "next evolution" mean the latest Pokemon game? Or some Pokemon look-alike?)
2:00 - "Harness the controller-free magic of Kinect for Xbox 360 to explore Disneyland park, enjoy immersive adventures based on popular attractions, engage in challenging quests, and interact with beloved Disney characters!"
3:00 - "Enter a dark world filled with despair and threaded by hope where your ability to creatively strategize, learn and overcome unpredictable and unique challenges determines your fate." (Dark Souls presumably?)
4:00 - "Bring the NFL straight to your video game console!"
6:00 - "A Nintendo DS action adventure game that brings the Pirates of the Caribbean world and all its colorful characters to life in LEGO Brick form." (Gee, wonder what this could be? =P)
8:00 - "Raise your fists and get ready to fight to the finish!"

That first one sounds like 999, which was kind of an entertaining game, actually, but it forces you to replay it in order to get the better endings.

As for the second one, there was a remake of Tactics Ogre this past year, I think. I don't know if it's funny, though.

No, it actually was Disgaea 4, which makes sense for everything _but_ the "grandfather of the strategy RPG genre." I guess whoever at Amazon was responsible for the writeup was some young'un who hasn't played anything from the last millennium and has never heard of Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics?

The noon one could just be the latest Nintendogs. Hmm, though you'd think they'd specify 3DS if so. Eh, maybe it is Pokemon Black/White. I wonder which fighter 8pm is...

....and it's actually.... Wappydog. A DS game I've never heard of that somehow has an MSRP of $50. Ooooookay.

(Oh, I see, it actually comes with a robotic toy dog. Slightly more sensible pricing then. Still not very interesting.)

Given that there are 15 minutes left on it out of 2 hours, and only 15% are now claimed, I think that's the general consensus.

Nope! Everyone is wrong! Wrong wrong wrong, brimming over with wrongability!

You were right on #1, which I might have picked up if I'd checked in time. Oh wells.

That's what you get for not being up at 6:30 am like me!

...hey, wait, that was 9:30 am for you! You have no excuse! ;)

I actually was up at (before) 9:30 this morning! but I wasn't checking Amazon or even LJ at that point. (I think at 9:30 I was just getting ready to take the dog for her walkies. :p )
