OH WOW.

Hmmm...do I want this? I would...except I only own 3 PSP games, and I've only actually played through one of them.

It's not clear what games the PSP phone will be able to play, but almost certainly it's not going to have a UMD drive. At best it will be able to play any PSP games that are available on the PSN store. It will _probably_ be able to play PS1 ports and PSP minis from the PSN store.

Really the best thing about this phone (so far) seems to be the combination of game controls with an Android phone, which means that a lot of games, and most especially all the emulators, will work a lot better on it.

I'm not sure if it will be a great buy for anyone who already has an Android phone though. They haven't released the specs yet, but i'll be surprised if they're up to par with the newer regular phones. If it _does_ have a dual core chip though and there's some way to get vanilla Android on it, i might actually be tempted.

It would totally be worth it if you could load some emulated games on there. Sadly, I've realized I'm not a commuter so my ability to actually play any games on my phone is limited. :/ Still, the concept is pretty cool, and I hope the platform is open enough that you can do useful things on it, especially if it worked with a vanilla version of Android.

Well i've currently got NESoid and SNESoid on my phone, and have copied over roms of pretty much all the Final Fantasy games, all the Dragon Quest games, Crystalis, Nobunaga's Ambition, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Metroid, MULE, Super Mario Bros, Ultima, Gemfire, Bahamut Lagoon, and a lot of other random stuff. I don't play them as much as i might otherwise though because of the huge backlog of new games i've got, and the fact that the touchscreen controls are so-so. They work fine for turn based stuff, but i'm kind of afraid to try them on an action game.

Huh, I actually didn't see that play during the superbowl here, but I had already seen the ad because someone linked to it online a couple days ago. It's delightfully creepy.
