Heh
I'm amused that there's a "Current Severe Weather" warning for "southwestern California" for... unseasonably warm weather. ZOMG! It's warm in southern california! :)

mid 80s to 90s isn't really _that_ hot, it's just that it's happening a bit earlier in the year than usual i guess. (shelleycat is taking it very seriously though, by which i mean warning me to drink a lot of water when i go rollerblading and possibly wear a hat (however i don't own any, so that's clearly not going to happen =) and stop if it gets too hot. Silly shelleycat ;)

obligatory Alaskan perspective
Mid-80s to 90s is WAY TOO FREAKING HOT.

The record high temperature for Anchorage is 85. Anything above that is just plain unreasonable.

And in other news: Current Severe Weather Warning! Alaska is cold!

(Not that I've ever been there, but hey.)

Obligatory Southerner's response
85 is a fabulous temperature, especially when it's been 100 degrees for the last three weeks.

Re: Obligatory Southerner's response
If it had been 100 for three weeks straight, I'd be unable to appreciate the 85-degree weather, by reason of having spontaneously combusted somewhere around Day 10. Which is not to say that your statement isn't perfectly true for better-adapted individuals than myself. ::grin::

That's OK. I turn into a block of ice when the thermometer shows about 25 degrees, and I can't even imagine below 0. Gah.

Considering it, allegedly, is 98 degrees in Long Beach today, a coastal city, it is probably scary-hot in areas of the valley and orange county. I spent about an hour outside this morning at the Aquarium and it was a little brutal then. Right now it is probably very nasty. Whenever weather might get up to body temperature, out of season, I don't think "severe" is an unreasonable description.

I seem to recall you complaining about getting sunburned on your hair part. Save your scalp, invest in a hat. Maybe a hat with a chin strap so that it doesn't fly off when you rollerblade.

That's only when i forget to use sunscreen though.

On the bright side (for both of us!), Boston is supposed to be warmer than LA this coming weekend. Which is just scary.

That's not a bright side! That means no rollerblading for me! :(
