Blech, the answer is no, the vinyl glue doesn't work on polyurethane, in fact it seems to melt it =P

So back to the sewing idea, the question is do i want to sew it by hand, or try to figure out how to use a sewing machine?

I'd recommend finding someone who knows how to use a sewing machine, and has a good one, and asking them to do it for you. It's a real fast job.

Oh, and JoAnn's and stuff usually have zippers that they sell by the foot, too.

Well so far the response to the sewing machine question hasn't indicated that there's anyone who has one and has the time to do it for me in the nearby area.

If they had zippers by the foot i didn't see them. Is it possible for them to make it into a double ended zipper anyways? That's kinda necessary

Can you use one of those little heat things to burn it together?

Given how the pleather reacted to the glue i'm not sure i want to try that...
