I took that brain gender test thing that everyone has been doing.

The overall score seems to go from 100 female to 0 in the middle to 100 male.

They don't actually print out a number that i can see, they just put it on a bar graph, it looks like i got about 25 on the male side.

The average male got 50 on the male side and the aveage female got 50 on the female side. So that would make me... 3/4ths male compared to the average i guess? or does that make me 25% male and the average male is only 50%? But in that case what happens if you get 0? You're neither male nor female? No, that really doesn't make any sense. I got 125 out of 200 if you count the entire range, so that would make me 62.5% male by one measurement.

Your score: 16 out of 20
Average score for men: 16.4
Average score for women: 14.7

Moving objects:
Your score: 57%
Average score for men: 42%
Average score for women: 57%

Your empathy score is: 16 out of 20
Average score for men: 4 - 12
Average score for women: 8 - 15

Your systemising score is: 10 out of 20
Average score for men: 8 - 16
Average score for women: 3 - 12

Your score: 7 out of 10
Average score: 6 - 9

so right between

If you scored 4 - 6: Your result suggests you have a balanced female-male brain and find it neither easy nor difficult to judge people's emotions.

If you scored 7 - 10: Your result suggests you are a good empathiser, sensitive to other people's emotions. Women generally fall into this category.

Right Hand: 0.94
Left Hand: 0.93

Average ratio for men: .96
Average ratio for women: 1.00

came out well on the male side on that one.

It claims i prefer more masculine faces. I'd be more interested to see a more numeric background, but i'm really not sure the test is worth anything. I was flip-flopping back and forth between most of the choices before effectively flipping a coin to decide, so maybe some subconscious interest was getting expressed, or maybe the results were just random.

Rotating shapes:
Your score: 12 out of 12
Average score for men: 8.4
Average score for women: 6.4

If you scored 10 - 12: Are you an engineer or do you have a science background? People with these skills tend to score in this range. Past studies have concluded that people in this range have a more male brain.

Why yes in fact i am, and i do, plus years of tetris experience on top of it :)

You associated 12 word(s) with GREY and you named 5 word(s) that mean happy. We are assuming that all the words you entered are correct. Scientists will be analysing your results in more detail.
Average score: 6 - 10 words

This one confused me, i'm pretty sure for grey they asked me for thing that i associated with it, and for happy i'm pretty sure they asked for things that meant that, which is a huge difference.

If someone offered you £50, you said you would demand £20.

Er, that's not quite how i understood it working. What i thought i said was that if they offered me less than $20 of the split that i would tell them to go fuck themselves :)

On average, people offer 35 to 40% of the pot.

Sex differences are small in this task. An offer of more than 40 per cent of the pot (ie £20) is more typically female and an offer of less than 35 per cent of the pot (ie £17.50) is more typically male.

I offered $25. Okay, i know i could have probably offered less and got them to accept, but that just seems too mean and unfair. I'd be pissed at whoever if they offered me less than $25.

I took half the test this morning and despite their claims and despite clicking on the save button when i came back to the site tonight it had forgotten all about me :(

So i took the first half again. I got 15/20 on the angles the first time and 5/14 on the moving stuff i think, so my score on both those increased slightly. I also had a friend available to help me with the "other people say about you" type questions, so my results on that might have changed, but i don't remember what i got before.

So it looks like i managed to outdo the women at a few of the supposedly female things, and to outdo the men at a few of the supposedly male things, and ended up on the male side but not as much as the average guy.

A lot of people I know came out on the 0 mark, balanced between male and female aspects.

For grey, they asked you for things that are usually grey or predominantly grey. I found that difficult,

I also saw the splitting money offer more as a - if you're an asshole, I'll take a small loss to say "screw you". :)

*blinks* Oh, i wasn't saying thatbpeople landing on zero doesn't make any sense, but refering to those people as neither male nor female doesn't make any sense. There's quite a bit of diffence in being balanced between the two genders and having no gender.

Heh, i guess i might have had some help with the grey thing from growing up in Seattle :)

The money thing might have been more interesting if it was a more significant amount. I would be more likely to put up with an asshole if we were talking about a large amount. If it was a million dollars i might accept as little as 100k, although i might use the money to hire someone to beat the crap out of the asshole who took 900k :)

But perhaps the poitn was to pick an amount where your feelings of fairness would balance out the potential gain, but the results probably vary by each individual's valuation of $100.
