Clouds
There were actually some breaks in the clouds and a little bit of sun yesterday, now it's back to being completly overcast. Reminds me a little of home :)

For anyone who's read The Two Towers or doesn't mind some spoilers, there's an article on USA Today about The Two Towers extended version

Looks like they're adding a lot of stuff to fix complaints that i and others had, although there are a couple scenes i don't see how they can fix without actually taking stuff out.

Okay, I am Not Amused with the Eowyn scene.

"the Eowyn scene." Which one?
Kallahkallah on June 12th, 2003 01:37 pm (UTC)
The one involving Eowyn serving Aragorn a bowl of inedible stew.

I have no idea which scene that is. Where in the film is that?
DonAithnendonaithnen on June 12th, 2003 07:15 pm (UTC)
It's not in the current release, it's one of the upcoming extended scenes they talk about in the article.

Why are you not amused by it? I'm guessing it's more that she tries to do the "womanly" thing rather than that she fails at it, but i'm not sure.
Kallahkallah on June 12th, 2003 08:12 pm (UTC)
Because it doesn't make sense, really - why is Eowyn cooking, much less for Aragorn? She's Theoden's adopted daughter.

My first guess is because she's in love with him and wants to impress him.
Kallahkallah on June 12th, 2003 08:39 pm (UTC)
Why that way, though?

(and she's not in love with him.)
DonAithnendonaithnen on June 12th, 2003 09:02 pm (UTC)
Obviously because they thought it would be funny? =P

If i were going to look for a deeper motive than that, i guess it would be to stress that she's not much of a stay at home and cook type and more of a warrior type, but it seems a bit of a silly way to try and show it.

And why do you say she's not in love with him?
