Moving and Sports Schadenfreude
Moving was accomplished. The last day was theoretically friday, but the manager said i could drop the keys off in the mail box after the office closed. I took the day off work, got there around 8 am, packed some stuff, bought some more supplies, packed some more stuff, made a trip to the storage place to drop off a load, packed some more stuff, and went up to the new apartment with the second to last load around 9 pm. We spent some time unpacking and then decided it would be best if i got some sleep and we both headed down to do the last load. We got to bed around 12:30 or 1 am and got up at 4 am, and headed down around 4:30 or 5. We packed a lot of stuff, dumped a lot of stuff at the Salvation Army across the street, and packed up the rest in our cars. The keys were dropped off in the mailbox at 8:45 am, 15 minutes before the office opened in the morning. One of the maintenance people was surprised to find us still moving stuff out around 7 or 8 am, but since we were all done when the office called to double-check at 9:30 it was all fine :)

We got home and didn't bother unpacking that last load at all. We both took showers, then went out to do a celebratory brunch with Avalyn's sister, then they went off to do some shopping for steampunk stuff while i took a nap.

Saturday evening and sunday morning a great deal of stuff was unpacked and shelved, and a great deal more was moved out of the living room and stacked in my room so we could have thumbie, shamiksan, and +Andrew Schoonmaker come over to watch the Superbowl on sunday. This was only the second time i was actually interested in the Superbowl itself (as opposed to just the commercials) because it was only the second time the Seahawks were in it. Needless to say, it was a very good day.

In fact it's been a great week for sports related schadenfreude overall. Starting with Manning in the Superbowl (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gLxwz50uvXQ/Uu7Xtu5VrcI/AAAAAAAAB0A/Suw5psRhfwA/s1600/4.gif) and ending with the slowly unfolding disaster that is the Sochi Olympics (https://twitter.com/SochiProblems) of course it's possible the Olympics could pull together once the games actually start, but given the Russia's anti-gay legislation and the mass destruction of stray animals, plus some other rather unsavory stuff going on, i'm kind of hoping this trend of suckage continue. At this point i'd say they deserve any bad publicity they get, though hopefully there won't actually be a terrorist attack or anything else that gets someone killed. Not even sure if i'm going to watch any of the events, though i will miss the figure skating if i do skip it all.
