Brave trip
So far, thumbie, shamiksan and doctorskuld have expressed interest in seeing Brave next week. That makes two of us in OC and two in South Bay, so i guess we get to arm wrestle about locations? :) Is there any one else in the area(s) who wants to get in on a potential group outing?

I believe doctorskuld mentioned the possibility of doing a midnight showing? Which is something i'd be fine with but i don't know about anyone else.

So that's all that's been figured out as far as i know, so everyone else... 3, 2, 1, Fight?

We are definitely planning to take the kids to see that sometime this summer. If you're coming up to south bay, we'd love to join you. I have to get my cousins from the airport Friday 22nd 6-8pmish, and Saturday the kids are attending a birthday party 6-8pm. Saturday morning with kids, or Friday or Saturday late without kids are both good for us. I'm not up as late as we used to be, and a midnight showing would have consequences, but I'd probably do it if that's what everybody else was doing.

Oops, sorry, i meant the Los Angeles South Bay, though i guess it shouldn't surprise me that the bay area has a south bay too.

Ah bummer, but that makes sense. 6 hours is a bit long/expensive of a drive just to see a movie. I don't think I'd realized there was a South Bay Los Angeles until now.

If anyone reading this is in the SF Bay area and wants to see it, we are indeed planning to take the kids to the movie sometime this summer. Without the motivation of seeing friends though, I may save it for a day when it's 106. (We don't have air conditioning.)

Well to be fair, i think i'd been living in Redondo Beach for at least a year before i heard the name, and it took me awhile to figure out that it actually meant where i was living :) The "bay" part of South Bay isn't very obvious.

There's a midnight Brave showing at the theatre near me in the Irvine Spectrum on Thursday night at 12:01am. The film comes in at 1h40min, which may not be too bad, but it's in 3D only. Otherwise, on Friday the 22nd, there's a 7pm and a 9:45pm (also 3D only). Tickets are $16.50, which is a bit pricey, unfortunately. I may be up for other suggestions, such as driving up to South Bay. There might be friends in the Torrance/Gardena area who also want to see it. If that's the case, we can smoosh our groups into one. The more the merrier, right?

Where are you looking those times up at?

Looks like if i can believe Fandango, Bella Terra has Thursday midnight showings in both 3D _and_ regular.

On friday for regular showings they've got 7:35 pm and 10:10 pm for regular showings. The regular showings are $12.

I'm okay with heading up to the Torrance/Redondo area, assuming thumbie and shamiksan speak up at some point and confirm their interest :)

We can come down that way, for sure. We could do Friday or after, anytime.
